Whether your patients are paying with their credit card, cash, or checks, patient statements can be an important part of their health care experience. Automated printing mailings offer a more convenient way to send these vital documents, and they save you time and money in the long run. To ensure your patients receive the right statements and payment options, you should allow for more payment options. Consider adding options for credit card payment, Internet banking, and cash payments.
If your practice uses the Automated Patient Billing system, you can select a category for each patient who will receive an automated statement. This will limit the results based on the patient category you choose. To set the category code, click Utility --> Category Code. Select the category you want to print for each patient. You can then select which patient groups you want to print for. Once you have entered the patient category, you can choose whether to send the automated statements to a single patient or to several patients.
For patients who pay by check, it's a good idea to have their statement sent to their home addresses. In addition to the mailer's name, address, and phone number, the statement can include information about their health. For instance, if the patient is enrolled in a health plan, they will receive a statement that contains the information they need about their health. Besides being a cost-effective way to reach patients, patient statements also serve as an opportunity to advertise the practice and its brand.
